The Muskoday First Nation is working towards a strong governance model in which new business activity will be pursued through a new board of directors for its Muskoday Economic Development Authority. The Authority will managed outside of political functions of the Chief and Council and is meant to foster new partnerships with industry.

The recently appointed Muskoday Economic Development Authority Board will be assigned to take responsibility for all going concerns of the Muskoday First Nation businesses and future developments. These businesses include the Muskoday Gas Bar and Store, Muskoday Bison Operation, and future Truck Stop.

KEY OBJECTIVES

  1. Setting Targets, Measurable Results, Outcomes for Positive Change to Occur.
  2. The Authority Makes and Oversees Business Investments to Create Wealth.
  3. Developing strong corporate reporting on business performance.
  4. Building the management capacity through acquiring or training members to achieve adequate business management experience.
  5. Developing business growth initiatives to expand current own-source revenue.
  6. Forging new joint ventures and business relationships in the marketplace.
  7. Developing partnerships with other First Nations, tribal organizations, federal and provincial governments and economic development authorities.
